I Took the Moon For A Walk, by Carolyn Curtis and Alison Jay, is one of my current favorite children's stories right now. Honestly I have too many favorites, but I especially enjoy those stories that require the use of your imagination. Who wouldn't want to take the moon for a walk? I feel children today are losing this skill or rather not given the opportunity to develop the use of their imaginations so much anymore. Everything is so ready to go these days...in most cases you don't even have to read directions just get told instructions. Does convenience make us "less smart"?
I need to add this book to my list of books to add to my library. I have never heard of this story before. I am into kids using their imaginations, it is a reflection of ones' personality. Kids learn a lot of things about themselves when using their creativity. And to answer your question, no convenience does not make us less smart, as long as we take the time to ask the question "why" Asking "why" will make all the difference!
