Early Childhood Networking

For part one of the blog assignment, I have chosen to try and create contacts with early childhood professionals in other countries.  I am attempting this contact with emails to early childhood organizations in the Philippines, Haiti, the Netherlands, Ireland, Jamaica, and Thailand using both link resources on the Walden blog resource page provided for the class.  I chose the Philippines because of my personal origins and the other countries out of curiosity.  The only response I have gotten so far is a failure of delivery from the Ireland contact email.  Hopefully the others will be more successful.

For part two of the blog assignment I have picked two websites to follow and learn how they contribute to and support the early childhood field.  The first website I chose is The Center for the Childcare Workforce, because I believe it validates my beliefs that in order for the early childhood field to change and improve all aspects of the field must be valued by society and the public.  The second site I chose is UNESCO because it encompasses many issues from several perspectives and I found it instantly interesting.

I look forward to sharing my findings as well as reviewing all the information everyone else will be sharing.

  1. I hope to gain some more secure contacts as well. Do you have a facebook account? I have started "liking" a lot of our resources pages and I am happy with all of the information that shows up on my feed. I also have enjoyed engaging in conversations with others in response to posts. Somehow I missed your blog last class, so I look forward to collaborating with you.
